Role Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Entry-Level Staff Accountant who is eager to learn and grow within our company. This role is ideal for someone who aspires to advance into a Junior General Ledger (GL) Accountant and Financial Analyst position. You will be responsible for supporting various accounting tasks, including assisting with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end processes, while developing the skills necessary for financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Support:

Assist in maintaining and managing the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Support the preparation and posting of journal entries for various transactions including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions.

Help conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Month-End and Year-End Close Support:

Aid in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing adjusting entries and supporting financial statement preparation.

Ensure all financial data is accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner.

Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Financial Reporting and Analysis (Learning Opportunity):

Assist in preparing various financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Support the analysis of financial data and provide insights to management regarding financial performance and trends.

Learn to develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting (Learning Opportunity):

Participate in the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to gather and validate information.

Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Analyze budget vs. actual performance and provide explanations for variances.
Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Support:

Assist in the processing of accounts payable invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.

Support the accounts receivable function by helping to prepare and send invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.

Reconcile AP and AR accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Assist in the preparation of AP and AR reports, providing insights into cash flow and payment trends.
Compliance and Audit:

Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.

Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Learn to implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with other departments to gather and provide financial information and support.

Communicate effectively with management, providing updates on financial status and any issues identified.

Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve financial processes and systems.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Strong desire to learn and grow in the field of accounting and financial analysis.

Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is a plus.

Work Environment

Full-time and Part-time positions considered with standard office hours.

Occasional overtime may be required, particularly during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close periods.
